field, TCP presents "Off The Wall With...," a Q&A just a little bit
off the beaten path.
Today's featured Cat is Nick Seitze, a junior offensive lineman from
Converse, Texas.
TCP: If you were stranded somewhere with only one CD, but it could consist
of any songs you wanted, what would be your top three?
NS: Well, it's definitely going to be country. I have to have some George
Strait in there, one of my hometown heroes. I'm the king of sappy love songs, so
I'd have to go with "Baby Blue." Then I'd throw a little Kentucky flair in there with John Michael Montgomery, "I Swear." I'd wrap it up with Pat Greene,
another Texas guy, and "Dance Hall Dreamer." It's about a guy who just loves old
country dance halls and two-step music. He's Texas country, not Nashville, a
little different.
TCP: What is your all-time most annoying song?
NS: Oh, gosh, that "Hey Macarena" song. Most of the one-hit wonders
get on my nerves.
TCP: What is your favorite sporting event you've ever witnessed, either in
person or on TV?
NS: The running of the bulls in Spain. That's just nuts. That's what I
call an "extreme sport." (Follow-up: You ever want to try that?) Oh, no.
I'm too fat and slow. (Laughs)
TCP: If you were a cartoon character, which one best exemplifies your
personality?
NS: Johnny Bravo. Definitely Johnny Bravo. He's not afraid of doing or
saying anything. He just does it.
TCP: If you could take a week's vacation anywhere in the world, where
would you go?
NS: Germany. My heritage is German, so I'd like to go back and see
where my family comes from. I'd love to do that. I've never been overseas.
TCP: What kind of qualities do you look for in someone you'd like to date?
NS: I'm a personality guy. I guess I'm real big on that because I
think that's my strong point. If you get two people with similar personalities,
that usually works. I like someone who's going to be funny and joke around. And
I like short girls. (Laughs) I've only had one girlfriend who's ever been
over 5-2.
TCP: If you had a sister, which of your teammates would you most like her
to marry?
NS: Definitely one of the O-Linemen. They're good guys like me. Or
(defensive end) Otis Grigsby. He's my best friend, and I know he's good with
girls.
TCP: If you were king for a day, what's the first thing you'd do?
NS: Eat a lot, and then tell everyone what to do. (Laughs)
That's why I like playing center so much. I like the leadership role.
TCP: If you could have taken part in any historical event, which one would
you choose?
NS: The Battle of the Alamo. Once again, it's my Texas roots, and you
learn a lot about that stuff growing up.  (Follow-up: But wouldn't that
mean being on the same side as Tennessee Volunteers?) Oh, yeah. But that's
OK in this case.
TCP: You wouldn't catch me dead doing...
NS: Rodeo. (Follow-up: But you're a big Texas/George Strait guy. You
mean to tell me you wouldn't ride a bull?) Nope. No thanks. Back in the day, I
would always want to do that. But you get a little bit older and you get
smarter. That's just too crazy.
TCP: Which teammate would make the best star of a TV "reality" series.
NS: Otis Grigsby. Definitely. He's out there, like me, and he's not
afraid to talk. He'd love having a camera on him all day long.
TCP: What's your favorite quotation or saying?
NS: "Don't worry about what you can't control."
