"The kind of guy that linebackers have to square up to bring down and safeties and corners always go low on which gets them two extra yards a pop once they break into the open. So yeah, Benny again.
"More importantly, the kind of guy you have to have to win in the SEC. Can't win if you can't keep the ball. And you can't keep it if you don't have chain movers."

"UK makes the most sense for Bamba. Folks can debate this and that all they want but Humphries is most likely gonna leave and play pro ball somewhere, Bam will stay in the draft, and that'll leave only Wynyard and Richards as true centers on next year's roster. Bamba can say he wants to play the 4 all he wants but everyone knows damn well that no matter where he goes he's a 5. Guys 7'0" with 7'9" wingspans don't play the 4 in college and most of em don't play the 4 in the NBA unless they have ridiculous floor skills and can shoot the ball... like oh, I dunno... Anthony Davis at 6'10" with a 7'6" wingspan."
-- Col. Angus on Bamba's recruitment
"I'm not gonna say he will be better than Cobb, Cobb is arguably the greatest UK football player ever. If Bowden ends up better than Cobb, Bowden will almost certainly go down as the GOAT because he probably smashed almost every record there is.
I think he will be very much like Cobb though. Very electric player that we haven't had since Cobb."
"Cal's best teams have always been defensive juggernauts. I realize some of our fans want the best shooters, but having athletic freaks to defend every position makes winning in the NCAA Tournament easier. Vanderbilt is a game changer with all of the things he's capable of doing.
"If we get Bamba, we have the potential to be the best defensive team in the country by season's end."
