It's the best finish for Kentucky in the Learfield Director's Cup in the history of the university's athletics programs.

Only Florida, which finished 3rd, ranked higher from the Southeastern Conference.

The top ten, in order: Stanford, Ohio State, Florida, Southern Cal, North Carolina, Michigan, Texas, Penn State, Oregon, Kentucky.

Kentucky's strong baseball performance in the 2017 season helped keep the overall program score in the top ten. Strong scores in softball, men's tennis, and track and field in the spring helped the Cats' score as well. Kentucky's strongest score came during the winter sports.
