Woulard lands UK offer, planning to visit for a second time

Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill defensive back Peyton Woulard appears to be emerging as one of Kentucky's top targets in the secondary from the 2018 class.

Cats Illustrated caught up with him this week and our timing was good. Woulard picked up an offer from Kentucky on Friday.

Woulard is ranked the No. 78 player from the '18 class in the talent-rich state of Georgia.

He's a safety and that's a position the Cats are likely to aggressively target, having recruited cornerbacks so well in the 2017 class.

Boston College, Duke, Indiana, Iowa State, Purdue, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest are the Power Five schools that had offered Woulard before Kentucky, so that speaks to the fact that he isn't a sleeper. It also indicates that academics are a strong point for the three-star prospect.

"Received an offer from Kentucky," Woulard said in a message to Cats Illustrated on Friday around the same time he posted the offer on his social media account.

"I talk to Coach (Matt) House a lot and Coach Clink (Steven Clinkscale)," he added. "They want me to come out to one of their practices or the spring game."

Woulard visited Kentucky in late January for the Cats' first junior day of 2017.

"I'll visit again," Woulard said following Kentucky's offer. "I liked it a lot (on the first visit). Was very impressed. I'm very interested in them. I have a good relationship with Coach House."

House visited Woulard's high school in January.

Last year, about 10 months ago, Woulard told Cats Illustrated what he would be looking for in a school.

"I would say great academics as well as (a school that) has a great football program to help me be the best player/person I can be," he said.
