THE WAR ROOM!
Lynn Bowden is expected to arrive at Kentucky today. More on that and his role on UK's 2017 team in yesterday's War Room below.
Also, the latest on Bryant Koback's status following a successful rehab process, or so we've heard, plus recruiting updates on Chris Oats, Blue Smith and Kristian Pechac, all targets who have been in the news a lot lately.
Finally, you'll get notes on what we saw from current Wildcats when we were around Kroger Field for camps throughout the summer.
WEIGHT ROOM POSTER CREATES A STIR
When Rece Davis rolls into town it's big for any college football program.
On Wednesday, he tweeted an interesting picture from a tour of Kentucky's facilities in Lexington; a picture that drew quite a range of reactions on social media.

HINSHAW OFFERS ANOTHER
Kentucky has Jarren Williams on board from the 2018 class so there's no urgency to land another quarterback in the immediate future.
But passers are making decisions earlier than ever so Darin Hinshaw and his quarterback coaching peers across the country are becoming more aggressive in scouting and offering younger quarterbacks than ever before.
Add Hayden Wolff to the list of underclassman quarterbacks with a Kentucky offer. He went in-depth with CatsIllustrated.com on his recent camp at Kentucky, his Wednesday offer from the Cats and recruiting in general.

INJURY CONCERNS (OR LACK THEREOF)
Record predictions, top 25 lists and all-conference teams are the rage as the season gets a little bit closer.
It's one thing to list a team's first line talent and project where they might finish with some confidence. But there are variables, like injuries, that can change the course of a team's season and, indeed, the entire college football landscape.
How prepared is Kentucky to deal with the possibility of injuries in 2017? That's what CatsIllustrated.com explores in this piece. Here we'll start with the offense.

BLUEBLOOD PURSUIT
It's easy to see why a bunch of top programs are getting in early with the 2019 power forward James Wiseman. At 6-foot-10 he's already a polished player who moves well around the basket, and gets up and down the court quickly. Wiseman is already planning a few visits for the fall and seems to be ahead in the recruiting process for a player in the 2019 class with plenty of time.

COMMONWEALTH REPRESENTED
Kentucky’s Stephen Johnson, Western Kentucky’s Mike White and former Franklin County High School standout Logan Woodside of Toledo were among 47 quarterbacks named Wednesday to the watch list for the 2017 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

PLAYING SURFACE SHIFT
When the University of Kentucky takes the field for the first time in its new $49 million baseball stadium, that field will be AstroTurf.
UK announced last year that the stadium’s new surface would be synthetic. This week, the school revealed the company that would handle the installation, a change from the traditional real grass and dirt of the team’s current home, Cliff Hagan Stadium.
HOOPS RECRUITING UPDATES
Basketball prospects in the class of 2019 are still a little more than two years away from starting their college careers, but several members of that group are already emerging as major recruiting targets for the University of Kentucky.
John Calipari and his assistant coaches saw many of those players this past week at various shoe company-sponsored events in Georgia and South Carolina.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RECOGNIZED
The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program ended the 2016-17 season with a 3.492 team grade point average, which ranked 24th nationally in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, it was announced Wednesday.
FOOTBALL SEASON CONCERTS
The Kentucky Football Pregame Concert Series will return for the 2017 season. This year, UK Athletics is seeking nominations for local bands to play at the Wildcats’ home opener on 9/9.

MCCORMACK'S A BRUISER
In a recruiting class seemingly short on top-quality centers, Oak Hill (Va.) standout David McCormack could be a player to watch for the Kentucky Wildcats.
McCormack — a 6-foot-10, 260-pound big man from Norfolk, Va. — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 center in the 2018 class. An example of the dearth of talent at that position in this recruiting cycle: McCormack is the No. 24 overall player in the class.
His top standing in a perennial position of need makes him a coveted prospect.

THE PERFECT TEAM
If you could assemble the best college basketball team possible for 2017-18, with any college basketball personnel at your disposal, would you pick Rick Pitino to coach the team?
ESPN's Myron Medcalf did, and that didn't go over too well with some Kentucky fans.
Read Medcalf's entire take below.
