Kentucky's dizzying day of roster movement continued Monday evening as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander declared for the NBA Draft.

The freshman point guard announced his decision live on ESPN. He also stated that he plans to hire an agent, which would effectively end his UK career.

It marked the third roster move of the day for the Wildcats, who received a verbal commitment from McDonald's All-American forward E.J. Montgomery in the morning and announced that sophomore center Sacha Killeya-Jones would be seeking a transfer in the afternoon.

Last week, fellow UK freshman Kevin Knox also declared for the draft.

Gilgeous-Alexander was praised as UK's top player by coach John Calipari this season. He averaged 14.4 points, 5.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game, pushing his scoring to almost 21 points per game in the postseason.

The Hamilton, Canada, native is projected as a lottery pick in the June 21 draft. ESPN had him tabbed as the No. 12 pick to the Los Angeles Clippers earlier today.

News of Gilgeous-Alexander's departure could lead to more roster news for the Cats in the next 24 hours.

Five-star 2019 point guard Ashton Hagans has been rumored to be on the verge of a UK commitment. Ranked No. 6 overall in his class, the Covington (Ga.) Newton standout may also re-classify to play college basketball in 2018-19.

If so, he would join point guard Immanuel Quickley, shooting guard Tyler Herro, wing Keldon Johnson and Montgomery as Calipari's latest elite crop of recruits.
