It's not at all clear which running back Kentucky will end up with from the Class of 2018, or if the Cats will land one or two.
What is clear is that Lavonte Valentine is at or near the top of the Cats' wish list to fill that spot.
Valentine is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound back from Melbourne Central Catholic (Fla.), and on Sunday he announced his list of favorites via a graphic on Twitter. The favorites: LSU, Kentucky, Louisville, Florida, Southern Cal, South Carolina and Notre Dame, in no apparent order.
On February 28th, Kentucky became the first school to offer Valentine. Over the ensuing two weeks he added about 10 offers altogether.
Valentine has offers from a number of schools that did not make his apparent cut, including Oregon State, Oregon and Tennessee, among others.
Valentine rushed for 680 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. He played only very sparingly as a sophomore.
Before this spring Valentine was mostly known as a track star. Last year he was the 4A state champion in the 100 meters in Florida.
