Pittsburgh grad-transfer Cam Johnson starts his visit to Kentucky on today and will be on UK's campus until Friday.

The 6-foot-8, 210-pound Johnson will have two years of eligibility remaining but because he has already graduated college he will be eligible to play the 2017-2018 and wouldn't have to sit out a year.

Johnson first announced he would leave Pittsburgh on April 1st and on Friday it was announced he was down to Kentucky, Ohio State, Arizona, UCLA, Oregon and TCU.

His first visit starts today in Lexington and it's unclear where he will visit after his trip to Kentucky. There's also no timetable for a decision from Johnson and it's unclear if he will visit every campus on his list.

Johnson averaged 11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for Pittsburgh last year but could fill an immediate need for the Cats next season. Johnson shot 41.5 percent from three last year and hit 78 threes. Malik Monk hit 104 and second most on UK last year was Derek Willis with 49.

UK made 267 threes last season but only 23 threes were made by players returning to Kentucky next season.

Johnson is from UK head coach John Calipari's hometown, Moon Township, Pa., and the two have been in contact ever since Johnson announce his plans to transfer.

Kentucky is currently recruiting Kevin Knox and Mohamed Bamba, along with Johnson. With momentum fading for Knox, Johnson may be UK's last chance at adding another perimeter scorer for 2017-2018 season.

The Cats have lost Dominique Hawkins and Derek Willis to graduation, and De'Aaron Fox, Malik Monk and Isaiah Briscoe to the NBA Draft. Redshirt freshman Hamidou Diallo has also declared for the NBA Draft but hasn't hired an agent.

Stay tuned to Cats Illustrated for reaction to Johnson's visit to UK.
