Tyreke Smith is a 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive end/pass-rushing specialist from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and while Kentucky may still have some ground to make up the four-star prospect included Kentucky on his list of a dozen favorites released on Friday.

Alabama, Penn State, Southern Cal, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia, UCLA, Ohio State, Texas and Oregon make up the entire list.

After four-star tight end Brenden Bates committed to Kentucky, Smith tweeted out that he was eager to visit Lexington. He knows three-star defensive end and Kentucky commit Alex Reigelsperger.

As recently as early March, Smith told CatsIllustrated.com that he would be visiting Kentucky "soon." That trip hasn't happened yet but it's not off the table.

Last year Smith told CatsIllustrated.com that he knew Kentucky receiver Dorian Baker and then-UK signee JaVonte Richardson. The former is an alum of Cleveland Heights, Smith's high school, whereas Smith has played basketball against Richardson.
