Louisville athlete likes UK and believes Cats may offer

In some recent recruiting classes the Louisville metro area hasn't been home to many of the state's top players, at least compared to some other years in the past.

In the 2018 and 2019 classes, however, it looks like Jefferson County is home to several of the Commonwealth's best.

From Jairus Brents, Tahj Rice and Rondale Moore in the 2018 class to Shawnkel Knight-Goff, Stephen Herron and others in the 2019 class, Louisville is home to an impressive amount of underclass talent.

Add Aidan Robbins to the mix.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound athlete is still waiting for offers to come in but he's optimistic about where he stands with Kentucky.

"Modest communication (so far) through coaches because they said they can't communicate until July 1st officially," Robbins told Cats Illustrated this weekend. "(UK) sends literature here and there but communication overall is modest."

But it's early and Robbins is young.

The really good news for Kentucky is that Robbins has a lot of interest in Kentucky.

"I have high interest in Kentucky and (have) always been a fan of the big blue. I have unofficially visited Kentucky twice. Kentucky likes me and has good interest in me and they see me as a running back or athlete that fits into their system," Robbins said. "I am still patiently waiting for that offer but I feel it will come soon."

Robbins missed two games in 2016 and he saw just limited action in three others because of pancreatitis early in the season. Still, he managed to rush for 712 yards on just 68 carries as a sophomore. He scored eight all-purpose touchdowns.

"I'm healthy now and ready to have a breakout season and show that I am one of the best running backs in the state," he said.
