This week three-star Dayton (Ohio) Dunbar linebacker Antwuan Johnson released his first list of favorite schools.

Kentucky made the list so the Cats are still in play.

The 6-foot-1, 229-pound inside linebacker, ranked the No. 18 player at his position and the No. 23 player in Ohio by Rivals.com, announced on Twitter that his favorites are, in no particular order, Kentucky, Syracuse, Purdue, Iowa, Louisville, Miami-OH, Arkansas, Cincinnati and Indiana.

Johnson isn't the only player from Dunbar High School's Class of 2018 that Kentucky has targeted this year. Big-time running back Tavion Thomas also picked up a Kentucky offer early in the process, but he didn't include Kentucky among his favorites when he released a similar list.

Johnson is rated a 5.7 on the Rivals Rating scale, which is the highest possible three-star ranking that the network awards.

Kentucky is expected to land a large 2018 signing class but the Cats do not, to date, have any commitments from linebackers.

In late January the linebacker attended Kentucky's first junior day of the year. Afterwards he told CatsIllustrated.com that he enjoyed his tour of the new, renovated facilities. He also said that he enjoyed time in a position meeting with Matt House, and the Kentucky fanbase impressed him at the UK-KU basketball game.
