Three-star Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna defensive lineman Chris Whittaker will officially visit Kentucky on Sept. 17, he told Cats Illustrated this weekend. That will put Whittaker in Lexington for the weekend of Kentucky's game against New Mexico State, the Cats' third game of the 2016 season.

One of Whittaker's teammates at Chaminade-Madonna is three-star wide receiver Joshua Ali, who is committed to Kentucky.

When Ali committed to Kentucky he told Cats Illustrated that he and Whittaker are very close.

Whittaker is a 6-foot-3, 256-pound strongside defensive end with offers from Colorado, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Purdue, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse and Tennessee, among others.

Whittaker told Cats Illustrated that his official visit to Kentucky is the only such trip he has planned but left open the possibility of officials to other schools.
