It's never too early to look ahead.

Kentucky fans can begin brainstorming possible NCAA Tournament destinations for years to come after the NCAA Tournament announced first and second round hosts along with regional hosts for 2019-2022 NCAA Tournaments.

And there are several instances where UK may not have to travel too far.

The KFC Yum! Center in Louisville will host its second NCAA Tournament Regional in 2019 (March 28th and 30th), which UK would be eligible to be seeded in that region if the NCAA Selection Committee sees fit.

Louisville hosted the South Regional in 2016 where Villanova knocked off Kansas before winning the National Championship.

Kentucky has played four NCAA Tournament games in the KFC Yum! Center, winning all four, but the Cats have never played in a regional in the arena, just first and second round games.

UK's home, Rupp Arena, will host first and second round games in 2021 (March 19th and 21st). Kentucky will not be eligible to play in the games hosted in Lexington. The last time Rupp Arena hosted the men's NCAA Tournament was 2013.

The closest first and second round site to Lexington in 2021 would be Detroit if Kentucky had a geographical preference.

But just a year later the Cats would only have to travel a short distance to Cincinnati for the first and second round where the Cincinnati will host the event at U.S. Bank Arena.

Some more good news for UK is that Indianapolis will host a regional in 2020 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The last time Lucas Oil Stadium hosted a regional was in 2014 when the Cats beat UofL and Michigan to advance to the Final Four.
