INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – In addition to the top high school talent, the Nike Camp usually has some of the best college players in the country taking part in the festivities, which leads to the best games you will see over the summer.
This year’s camp counselors include Kentucky’s Chuck Hayes, who roomed with Florida’s David Lee. The rest of the list reads like a Naismith Award list:

Will Bynum and Jarrett Jack (Georgia Tech), JR Giddens, Keith Langford and Wayne Simen (Kansas), Deron Williams and Dee Brown (Illinois), Hassaan Adams, Mustafa Shakur and Channing Frye (Arizona), Kevin Bookout (Oklahoma), Rashad Anderson (Connecticut), Tim Smith (East Tennessee State), Bracey Wright (Indiana), Joey Graham and John Lucas (Oklahoma State), John Gilchrist and Nik Caner-Medley (Maryland), Sheldon Williams (Duke), Justin Gray and Chris Paul (Wake Forest), Ronny Turiaf (Gonzaga), Nate Robinson (Washington), Sean May and Rashad McCants (North Carolina), Scooter McFadgon (Tennessee). and Jason Maxiell (Cincinnati).
Graham and Lucas were terrific in the counselor games, which kind of explains why Oklahoma State had such a sensational season a year ago.
Also, Lee and Hayes played well, with Lee more than holding his own against current National Basketball Association star Zach Randolph, who dropped in on Friday to take part in the games.
On the flip side, Indiana’s Wright played poorly and looked overmatched, while Carolina’s McCants continued to show why rumors have persisted that he is a ‘me-first’ player, shooting nearly every time he touched the leather.
