One day after John Calipari extended an offer to 2018 five-star Zion Williamson the Cats' head coach has offered another junior prospect.

John Calipari visited College Park, Grimes' high school, on Wednesday. On the same day Calipari extended an offer to Grimes, who is a highly-ranked four-star prospect.

Grimes had previously received offers from Arizona, Florida, Kansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Virginia, Baylor and many others.

Just two months ago Rivals.com basketball recruiting analyst Eric Bossi listed Grimes as the player he is most anxious to follow over the course of the spring. "The skilled combo guard from Houston is a big-time scorer but has designs on playing point guard at the next level. If he's a legit option as a full-time point guard he can go from upper-end to truly elite prospect as Kansas, Duke, Texas, Arizona, Kentucky, Baylor, Texas A&M and others chase him," Bossi wrote.

Grimes visited Kentucky last year and had this to say earlier in 2017 when Rivals.com caught up with him.

“The visit was really good," said at the time. "I got to sit down with coach Cal (John Calipari) and coach (Kenny) Payne and talk to them a little bit about their program. I know De’Aaron Fox really well, we’re good friends and talk all the time. It’s nice to have a big brother type out there to tell me what’s going on and answer questions. Kentucky hasn’t offered yet but they are showing interest, yes.”

Discuss this at the House of Blue.
