monthly bump

Posted on 1/27 9:33 PM | IP: Logged

I know this is a Reds thread, but I am bumping this up in honor of opening day for UK tomorrow. It is officially spring for me.

Posted on 2/17 9:52 PM | IP: Logged

The Stache was in mid season form today vs Tribe.

Posted on 2/27 8:30 PM | IP: Logged

This thread will never die.

Time for another sweep and then we wont hear from Gabecat for another 3 months, thankfully.

My all-time favorite thread is back. I'll take 2 out 3 vs the Indians everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

Posted on 5/20 12:09 PM | IP: Logged

I am staying quiet this year. All I can say is wait till tonight. The Reds are headed into a buss-saw. The Tribe is 15-4 at home this year.

Gabe, I'm a Reds fan but I do have a fondness for the Indians. I love your calls and takes on the radio shows like last night on Glover's show about broadcasters and radio talk shows. So, on this thread, I love the fact that it won't die and it gives me a good laugh when I see it. To me, it's not a dig at you but that it's an entertaining thread that comes up from time to time and I know it's either baseball season or almost baseball season when I see this. It's the gift that keeps on giving. lol

Posted on 5/20 12:26 PM | IP: Logged

Even as a Cards fan, I like this thread. Wink

Posted on 5/20 3:38 PM | IP: Logged

After blowing the game last night, I knew how today was going to go, and there is no doubt in my mind that they will lose tomorrow as well. The Reds are the most predictable team ever.

Posted on 5/21 6:29 PM | IP: Logged

Indians are getting unbelievable starting pitching and with Hafner and Sizemore out of the lineup they must get that to have a chance to win.

Posted on 5/21 7:14 PM | IP: Logged

I love watching the Indians play baseball this season, fun team.

I don't get the Reds...they are like Louisville in basketball. Their whole season is built up on trying to beat the St. Louis Cardinals just like UL's whole season is to beat UK in basketball...and even that usually does not happen. They manage to somehow sweep the Cards last week and go up 1.5 games in the division and just one week later look to be down 2.5 if today's games hold true with the Cards and Indians holding huge leads.

Posted on 5/22 3:46 PM | IP: Logged

Those wins you guys got against the Cardinals way back when were really awesome, though. :)

Posted on 5/22 3:50 PM | IP: Logged

Well as I type, the Cardinals PATHETIC and I must stress PATHETIC, PATHETIC, PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...bullpen is in the process of blowing another lead, this time one that was 7-1 at one point and 7-3 when the starter left after 5 innings of pitching.

Posted on 5/22 4:49 PM | IP: Logged

Volquez is a head case. He's got to be nearing an all-time record for ERA in the first inning. Unless he gets turned around quick, the Reds are already done. I full expect another sweep at the hands of the Phillies.

Dominating weekend by the Tribe. There's something about karma that works in mysterious ways. I am glad you chose to bring this old thread up and hope you bring back in July.

You deserve it.

I'm sorry guys, but I had to bring this thread back for a midwinter's appearance. I'm starting to get the baseball itch because next month UK starts their season.

Reds win 8-6

Posted on 3/4 9:34 PM | IP: Logged

The Reds can win all the practice games. The Indians will take the real games.

Opening Day Bump. Go Reds. Go Cats.

Posted on 4/5 10:06 AM | IP: Logged

Bringing up the thread the day before the series. I think this is the first time since they have been playing that series will be during the week.

Indians are a grinding out team in 2012. No superstars just a team that likes to win. I will be satisfied if they split withb the Reds this year. Both teams have a chance to win their divisions.

A couple of hints about this 3 game series. The Reds will be missing Masterson & Jimenez, who are pitching the best for Cleveland. The best player on Cleveland is an ex-BatCat, Jasson Kipnis, who is leading the team in RBI's, HR's & is leading the AL in stolen Bases. He left UK after John Cohen ran him off after his freshman year. I saw an interview with Kipnis and he stated that he deserved to be run off because of his immaturity at the time.

Well that was easy

I believe you are correct in this being the first all weekday series for Reds and Tribe. But I believe this is MLB's way of getting you used to for whats to come.

According to Jayson Stark on ESPN starting next year all teams will play their "rivalry" series during the week and it will be a single 4 game set (mon-thurs).....two games in one park and then turn right around and two games in the other.

Basically the number of interleague games will increase slightly starting next year (most playing 20) but the number of rivalry games will be reduced from 6 to 4.

This quick flip flopping of venues shouldnt be a big issue for teams in relatively close geography, but for those convoluted "rivalries" like Padres-Mariners the travel is something im sure the union will get involved in.

The creeper and thom were talking about kipnis having good power and excellent speed combo. I hope he develops into a star for Cleveland.

This is only the second series that the Reds have swept this season. On the other side of the equation, they have yet to be swept in any series.

After losing 2 of 3 to the Pirates and Tigers consecutively, I figured they were due. The sweep salvaged what had been a depressing homestand by turning 2-4 into 5-4.

There Gabe.  You happy now.  You should have bumped this thread.
