YAHTZEE! Kentucky lands two commitments
If you stepped away from your computer on Tuesday morning you likely missed the Cats picking up two football commitments for the class of 2018.
A pair of Floridian teammates picked UK: three-star wide receiver Marvin Alexander and defensive end Davoan Hawkins.
Alexander is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound receiver from Hollywood, Fla. He had offers from Syracuse, Central Florida and East Carolina. He plays with Hawkins at Chaminade Madonna.
Hawkins, a 6-foot-4, 252-pound strong-side defensive end, picked Kentucky over North Carolina, Wisconsin and West Virginia, but had interest from Auburn and Miami (Fla.).
Chalk up the victories for offensive coordinator Eddie Gran. He was the lead recruiter for both players and Gran continues to establish a reputation in Florida. He helped land Joshua Ali and Chris Whittaker from Chamindae Madonna in the 2017 class.
Hawkins and Alexander join quarterback commit Jarren Williams as the only three commits in UK's 2018 class.
