WR Marchman qualifies academically for UK

A University of Kentucky football signee has now received the necessary test score to make him eligible to play for the Cats beginning in 2003.
Maurice Marchman, a standout at Ballard High School in Louisville, received word about the test scores this week.

Marchman was one of 21 players to sign with UK last February. Actually, he could have played in the upcoming 2002 season but he was one of four in-state players who agreed to accept a "grayshirt" status. That means he signed in 2002 but will not enroll until January of 2003. He will have four years eligibility remaining.
At the time of his recruitment, the 6-0, 195-pound Marchman selected Kentucky over Boston College, Louisville, Cincinnati, Miami University and Indiana.
"I think he's a steal," Ballard coach Mark Catlett told The Courier-Journal at the time of his commitment. "He'll be a fantastic receiver in college. He has great skills, a great awareness of the game, and every year he's matured physically and mentally. Maurice is a big-play guy and a threat every time he touches the ball."
