VISIT RECAP: Fitzgerald enjoys time at Kentucky

Nigel Fitzgerald was one of several prospects from North Carolina who visited Kentucky two weekends ago for the Cats' first junior day of 2017.

He spoke about his experience in Lexington with Cats Illustrated recently.

REACTION: "It was great. I was really impressed by the campus and facilities there. I liked it a lot and had a great time."

CATS ILLUSTRATED'S TAKE: Kentucky will be trying to make inroads into North Carolina in 2018, when the program will have a lot of scholarships to hand out. The Cats will have a different coach recruiting in North Carolina. The state was recruited by defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot, who is now coaching at Colorado. Regardless of who UK's recruiter is there (and it seems like it might be defensive backs coach Steven Clinkscale, who recruits elsewhere on the east coast), Fitzgerald will be a player Kentucky tracks closely. He's a big receiver and one of the best skill players in the Tar Heel State. UK will again likely take several receivers as they graduate a lot of players at the position after 2017.
