Vince Marrow putting together another strong class

Over the last decade Vince Marrow has carved out a reputation for himself as one of the nation's most formidable recruiters.

Kentucky's improved recruiting efforts over the last decade are the best testament to that, considering Marrow has been on staff as the recruiting coordinator and has been the only remaining constant among the assistants who were first in Lexington.

Marrow is handling the Wildcats' recruiting efforts in the states of Kentucky and Ohio and his 2025 class is pacing to be of his better hauls.

Take a look at the current commitments recruited by Marrow:

Rivals100 safety Martels Carter

The four-star prospect committed to Kentucky in late May. He's ranked the No. 1 player in the Commonwealth. "It felt like home," he told Rivals.com recently. "I was the go-to guy for them, the No. 1 guy on the board, and they did everything I could ask for. I felt like I was really wanted there."

Tennessee, Oregon, LSU, and Auburn were among the schools Kentucky beat out for Carter.

Rivals250 RB Marquise Davis

Running back Isaiah West decommitted from UK sometime after Davis committed to Kentucky, becoming the Wildcats' second commitment at the position. Now Davis may be the only running back Kentucky brings in this year. There was a lot of chatter about Michigan late in Davis' recruitment but we stuck with the Kentucky pick and that's what he went with. He's the kind of back Kentucky should be able to build around in the future.

4-star EDGE Cedric Works

Marrow beat out Florida and Penn State for Buckeye State EDGE rusher Cedric Works, one of the most impressive linebacker specimens the Wildcats have recruited in recent classes. Rivals.com rates him as a four-star prospect. He just committed towards the end of this month.

4-star WR Quintin Simmons

UK has continued its momentum recruiting wide receivers beyond the Liam Coen era and it was Marrow winning over 4-star Ohio receiver Quintin Simmons that kicked it off this year. Several other Power Five programs had offered Simmons including Michigan, Michigan State, and Louisville.

3-star QB Brennen Ward

Normally offensive coordinators are the lead recruiters for quarterbacks but in this case Ward was already a Kentucky target by the time Bush Hamdan was hired to fill the role Liam Coen left vacant. Vince Marrow kept that relationship up and now the Wildcats are bullish on Ward's future potential as a Kentucky signal caller. There were several other power conference offers he chose between.

3-star WR Preston Bowman

While Bowman is not a Rivals.com four-star -- though he's said that's the goal -- he did remain committed to Kentucky after Ohio State offered. That's just about as impressive as anything else you'll read here. UK landed Bowman as his stock was peaking and that's a good sign for his trajectory moving forward.

3-star OL Tucker Kattus

While Michigan took an early interest in Kattus, Marrow locked him down. It helps that his brothers are in Lexington but those were Marrow as well.

Those are just the commitments. Now consider the remaining targets, plus any that could still emerge as UK is filling out the class.

Rivals250 CB Dawayne Galloway

The four-star prospect should be announcing his decision this week and CI had the first Kentucky prediction. He officially visited in June and UK has made him a priority. Purdue had the momentum but Galloway would pair very well with fellow four-star corner Andrew Purcell, who recently committed.

3-star DL Javeon Campbell

Rivals.com ranks Campbell as the No. 4 player in Kentucky and based on his offer list you could make a case that he could climb even higher. Alabama, Auburn, and Miami hosted Campbell for official visits so to say he's very in demand would be an understatement.

3-star OT Jermiel Atkins

Atkins has several power conference offers to choose from and he worked out with Eric Wolford and Drake Jackson at camp not long ago. He looks like he could be an NFL player down the road based on his frame. Some development might lie ahead, but this would be a player who would be very easy to dream on in terms of his potential.

3-star C Spike Sowells

Rivals.com ranks Sowells as a top-five center prospect nationally. Kentucky's staff believes he's the best center in the country and they're recruiting him with that kind of enthusiasm. Kentucky seems to be a strong contender but so is NC State.
