UK survives defensive end's list cut

Recruits are cutting lists as summer draws near and Kentucky survived the first round elimination round in the case of Malik Langham.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound defensive end from Huntsville (Ala.) Lee is down to 11 but Kentucky's still in play.

Langham's top 11, released on Thursday, includes Kentucky, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Washington, Georgia, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Louisville and Tennessee.

The three-star prospect noted that his recruitment is still open, so he remains open to other schools. However, Langham also said that these are the 11 schools he will focus on.

Kentucky is a relative newcomer to Langham's recruitment, having just offered at the beginning of May.

Defensive line coach Derrick LeBlanc would, hypothetically, be Langham's position coach at Kentucky and he is also the Cats' lead recruiter in this instance.
