UK is among CB Dort's first Power Five offers

This week Kentucky became one of the first Power Five programs to verbally offer Florida cornerback Cedrick Dort.

The 6-foot, 165-pound defensive back from West Palm Beach (Fla.) Dwyer hails from an area that has come into heightened focus for the Kentucky coaching staff.

Prior to Kentucky's offer schools like Syracuse and Rutgers were the first Power Five offers for the two-star Class of 2017 prospect.

Wildcat offensive coordinator Eddie Gran is Dort's area recruiter but the player is also being followed on Twitter by defensive backs coach Steven Clinkscale.

Dort told Cats Illustrated that he's "excited" following Kentucky's offer. He is familiar with other players from the area that have been offered by the Cats, including fellow 2017 prospect and receiver D'Jaundrae Edwards.
