Recruiting is over. Quintin Wilson put that in the rear view mirror when he committed to Kentucky. Getting the process over and done with is one of the perks of an early decision, at least for some prospects.
Even though recruiting is over, Wilson is making it a point to still visit Kentucky.
CatsIllustrated.com spotted Wilson in Lexington late last week during the football program's Friday Night Lights camps. Whether he was walking around the football facilities with fellow 2018 commitment and Ohio native Keaton Upshaw or talking to John Schlarman out on the field before the camp, he was a regular presence and seemed right at home.
"I had a really good time," Wilson said early this week. "It was nice to meet Darian (Kinnard) for the first time and I had a good time hanging with Keaton (Upshaw). So overall it was a good weekend."
Wilson seemed to hit it off with Upshaw.
"He's a really cool (guy)," Wilson said. "Always chilling so it's easy to be around him."
Spending time with Schlarman, his future offensive line coach, was one of the highlights of his visit.
"We were just catching up about how summer workouts (are) going, cracking some jokes (and) having a good convo," Wilson said.
Wilson will soon switch gears, entirely, to preparation for his senior season at Walnut Hills in Cincinnati. But once the season starts he'll still be making trips to Kentucky.
"Of course I'm definitely coming down for the Florida game and maybe some more if possible," he concluded.
