LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky won its sixth straight game on Tuesday afternoon as it defeated Wright State 15-1. The Wildcats scored one run in the first inning, four in the second, six in the sixth and five in the seventh to crush the Raiders. The Wildcats are 6-0 at Cliff Hagan Stadium and outscoring opponents 61-7 at home.
THE BATS
The top of the order did most of the damage early in the game for Kentucky. Marcus Carson, Evan White and Zack Reks -- the top three hitters in the order -- combined to go 5 for 6 through their first two times through the order. Carson and White each had one RBI while Reks had two.
The score stayed 4-0 until the bottom of the sixth. The Wildcats loaded the bases but a 12 minute rain delay occurred before Carson's at bat. When play resumed, Carson hit a two RBI double over the centerfielder's head. After an intentional walk to White to once again loaded the bases, Wright State pitcher Bear Bellomy walked three straight batters to make it 9-0. Kentucky scored another run on a walk later in the inning.
Connor Heady led off the seventh inning with a solo home run and Kentucky tacked on four more runs to make it 15-1.
Carson led the Wildcats with four hits while Heady, Reks and White all had two hits.
ON THE MOUND
Brad Schaenzer kept his scoreless inning streak alive against the Raiders. He pitched six innings, struck out eight batters and allowed seven hits. Schaenzer's scoreless streak is now at 16.2 innings dating back to his last appearance of the 2016 season.
Colton Cleary allowed a run in the seventh inning, Mark Doerries pitched a scoreless eighth inning and lefthander Josh Smith finished off Wright State in the ninth inning. Kentucky's pitchers held Wright State's offense to six hits on the night.

Kentucky (8-5): The Wildcats travel to Cincinnati on Wednesday. Kentucky defeated the Bearcats 8-4 last season.
Wright State (7-5): The Raiders will host Ohio on Thursday night.
