UCF offensive tackle commit on Kentucky's radar

Wondering about Kentucky's options at offensive tackle leading up to Signing Day?

Recently there have been reports linking Kentucky to UCF offensive line commitment Sebastien Dolcine. Cats Illustrated can confirm that Kentucky is interested, and you'll get the extensive story below.

Dolcine is a 6-foot-4, 266-pound offensive lineman from Miramar, Fla. He's a three-star (5.6) prospect according to Rivals.com.

There's just one catch: He's listed as an offensive guard.

As Cats Illustrated has mentioned for months, Kentucky's on the lookout for tackles. Not so much guards.

That's one reason Kentucky hasn't offered yet. Then again, Kentucky wouldn't be talking to Dolcine if there wasn't some interest. So what's the deal?

"What they want to do, before they offer, is they want to see if I'm a legit 6'4," Dolcine told Cats Illustrated. "That's what they want to see. I'm taking an official visit up there soon. They're flying me out there. They want to see if I'm a legit 6'4. I'm talking to Coach Eddie Gran. That's who's mostly recruiting me right now."

Gran is interested, apparently, because he and the UK staff believe that Dolcine could potentially be an offensive tackle. That's the likeliest explanation for their interest in his height.

"(Gran) said he likes me because I have great footwork and I have great hands and I'm athletic on the outside," Dolcine continued. "He said he likes me at tackle because I have great feet and I have great movement and direction. He said he'd try to make me into a first or a second round pick."

Dolcine said he's happily committed to Central Florida and noted "that's where (his) mind is at." But there's no denying that Kentucky has some appeal to him. He's taking the official visit, after all.

That official visit is likely to happen during the season, Dolcine told Cats Illustrated.

"The SEC is kind of a big deal," Dolcine said, who also cited Kentucky's fan base as a reason for his interest. "I want to dominate the SEC. That's what I want to do. But I want to do it at the right school. If I see Kentucky's a good fit then you never know. Right now UCF's on my mind."

USF, FAU and FIU -- all in-state schools -- are among the others, besides UK and UCF, showing interest in Dolcine.
