TOP NINE: Ohio receiver includes Cats in list of top schools

One more Kentucky football recruiting target has released an early list of favorites that includes the Cats.

It's still too early to draw conclusions, but Meechi Harris' top nine, released Tuesday on Twitter, is one step closer to a decision.

In no particular order, the list of favorites that Harris released includes West Virginia, Purdue, Michigan State, Iowa State, Cincinnati, Syracuse, Kentucky, Minnesota and Toledo.

CatsIllustrated.com has stayed in contact with the three-star Ohio receiver throughout the course of his recruitment.

Harris visited Kentucky during the program's spring practice season, and after his trip to Lexington he told CatsIllustrated.com that the trip went very well. A big part of the trip was spending time with Ohio recruiter Vince Marrow, who sold Harris hard on their need for a big play, explosive wide receiver. Marrow, Harris said, believes he can fill that need area.

He told CatsIllustrated.com that Marrow has his respect as a person and as a coach, so that's likely a big reason for his interest in Kentucky.

In spite of Kentucky's deep inroads in Ohio in recent years, Harris doesn't have many connections to the UK football program. Harris' brother knows Tobias Gilliam, but Harris himself doesn't have a personal relationship with the redshirt freshman from Wayne High School.

In Harris' tweet announcing his top nine he announced that his next move will be to trim his list from nine to three.
