Tight end has four favorites after camp at Kentucky

Christoph Henle has been one of the top camp performers at Kentucky in recent days.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Austria-native turned Texan is the latest tight end to land an offer from the Cats and that means he's worth paying close attention to.

"I really enjoyed being at camp," Henle told CatsIllustrated.com after his time at Kentucky. "I thought the way they do camps is awesome because it gives you a lot of time working with position coaches but also competing against others."

Henle worked with the tight ends at Kentucky's Saturday Night Prime Time Camp late last week. It was an average-sized group of tight ends that also included, briefly during workouts, Keaton Upshaw, another Kentucky target.

Henle, a three-star prospect who attends The Oakridge School in Arlington, Tex., was one of the better overall performers at camp and certainly looks the part of an SEC tight end.

"Working with Coach (Vince) Marrow definitely was something special and I really liked getting coached by him and being around him," Henle added. "He really liked my frame and the way I run routes but (also) how I can block and be physical."

Eddie Gran has also been involved in Henle's recruitment.

"Coach Gran really liked my film and we talked throughout the spring so I guess they just wanted to see me in person and see what I can do," Henle said. "I got to spend some time on and around campus and really felt comfortable being there."

Henle went on to make mention of a few favorites.

"As of right now I would say my top schools are Kentucky, Illinois, Houston and Rice," he said.

Henle was to visit Vanderbilt on Sunday, and trips to Purdue, Minnesota, Cal and Oregon State are to follow.

"Those are the only ones I have scheduled right now but I'm definitely willing to add some schools if they show interest."
