Swift running back who became one of the top rushers in Kentucky high-school history … Ranks second in Jefferson County history and 13th on the Commonwealth career rushing chart with 6,062 yards … Tallied 98 rushing touchdowns in high school … Four-year starter at running back and linebacker for Western HS in Louisville … Topped the 1,000-yard mark his final three seasons … Rushed for 1,787 yards and 29 touchdowns as a senior, earning second-team all-state accolades from the Louisville Courier-Journal … Gained 275 yards in a playoff game … His school's winner of the Johnny Unitas Award as given by the Unitas Golden Arm Foundation … Ran for 1,983 yards his junior year, when he was honorable-mention all-state by the Courier-Journal … Four-year member of the all-district team … Helped orchestrate a total turnaround of the team's football fortunes … When Goodson and new coach Brian Wright arrived at Western in 2001, the school had not won a game in two years … With Goodson helping lead the way, Western went 5-5 his first two seasons, then reached the state playoffs with 9-3 and 7-4 records as a junior and senior, respectively … "Corey has explosive speed and runs downhill," Wright said.
