Benny Snell is Kentucky's clear cut starter in the backfield and he stands to get a lot more carries than he did in his freshman year, when he was already a workhorse at times.

But who will start, or emerge, as Kentucky's primary number two?

Justin Rowland and T.J. Walker discuss.

T.J. Walker, Basketball Recruiting Analyst: King will start the season getting plenty of carries but by season's end it will be clear the A.J. Rose will be the backup to Benny Snell. There's so much to like about Rose's game and we should see that on the field sooner than later.

I like King and thing he's a nice change of a pace back, but there's concern about his strength and in the SEC you need a back that can carry a defender or two. We know Snell can and fans will see that Rose can do that, too.

Justin Rowland, Publisher: I think Sihiem King starts the season as the primary number two because of the length of time he's spent in the program, his grasp of the playbook, and the reliability factor, plus the fact that he's paid his dues under the radar. But over the course of the season I've got to believe that A.J. Rose, if he stays healthy, emerges on the number two line and starts to become the primary complement.

It was just one carry, but his one explosive carry in the spring game was a sign of what he's capable of. He has the acceleration, speed, and ability to get to the second level, with the size you want, to take more carries and make more big plays. He's got big-time talent and with another year under his belt, a better mentality in camp, and a stronger grasp of the playbook, he's the guy that fans should also hope emerges. Because a successful Rose is probably the best route to the backfield reaching its full potential.
