College basketball season might seem like a long way off but we're inching closer to another exciting season.

There's more optimism regarding the product the SEC might produce across the board, but who is Kentucky's biggest competition for the league crown during the 2017-18 season?

T.J. Walker, Basketball Recruiting Analyst: It's going to be Missouri. Yes, the Tigers were horrible last season but the commitment of Michael Porter Jr. and the hiring of Cuonzo Martin has brought new life to Mizzou. Every home game will be a rowdy atmosphere and I would be surprised to see them drop more than two home conference games this season.

If you're going to be that locked in at home then it's likely you will compete for the SEC crown. Home court advantage aside, Michael Porter Jr. will be the best player in the conference and it won't be close. Teams will focus in on him but even then he will be able to get other players in foul trouble and get to the line.

Kentucky will win the SEC but Missouri will finish second, which will be significant because the SEC Tournament is in St. Louis in 2018.

Justin Rowland, Publisher: I'll go with Florida. I realize Alabama has the intriguing backcourt, Missouri has the phenomenal recruiting class with Michael Porter as the headliner, Texas A&M has the imposing frontcourt and there are some other fascinating teams to think about as well, but the Gators are a very well-rounded team that returns a lot and adds a good bit, too.

It's risky going with a team that has injury issues (John Egbunu and Isaiah Stokes may not be ready until midseason), but Chris Chiozza and KeVaughn Allen will provide outstanding backcourt leadership and production and I really like Rice transfer Egor Koulechov as a solid contributor in the paint.
