Rivals250 DB has UK in top ten
Four-star Rivals250 defensive back Kwantel Raines hasn't often been linked to Kentucky, but on Memorial Day the elite prospect released a top ten that includes the Cats.
Raines' top ten, as announced by the player himself via Twitter on Monday evening: Florida, Maryland, Cal, South Carolina, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Penn State, West Virginia and LSU.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect is ranked the No. 11 safety in the nation by Rivals.com. He's also the No. 6 prospect in Pennsylvania.
In a fortunate coincidence for Kentucky, his area recruiter, Steven Clinkscale, is also his position coach.
While Kentucky hasn't often been mentioned as a serious player in Raines' recruitment, it could be time for that to change. Kentucky was on Raines' top 15, which he released on March 5. Before that, in August of 2016, Raines also listed Kentucky among a number of favorites.
