Conflicting Diallo reports: Writer says he's back, another says no decision

Kentucky's fans (and probably Kentucky's coaches) have been waiting on pins and needles for Hamidou Diallo's decision for a very long time.

According to a report early Tuesday evening, Diallo is returning to Kentucky.

Bryan Fonseca is a reporter employed by Nets Daily, Queens Ledger and Bag Broadcaster.

On Tuesday, Fonseca tweeted the following: "Source tells me that Hamidou Diallo is staying in Kentucky for a year. #NBADraft"

If true, Diallo's return would be a major boost to Kentucky's 2017-18 team on paper.

But the "if true" qualification is important, because shortly after Fonseca sent out his tweet Zach Braziller of the New York Post tweeted, "Source close to Hamidou Diallo: Nothing has been decided. No decision yet. Plans to meet with inner circle tomorrow."

Diallo, who posted the second-highest vertical jump ever recorded at the NBA combine, was one of the nation's top recruits last year even after reclassifying and arriving at Kentucky before he was originally going to get to college.

The 6-foot-5 two-guard would give Kentucky much improved defensive versatility in the backcourt, and he also would give the Cats' backcourt a much-needed depth boost.
