On Senior Day between the hedges, Kentucky had no answer for a pair of determined Georgia running backs playing their final home game.

The Bulldogs' Nick Chubb and Sony Michel combined for 238 yards and five touchdowns Saturday in leading Georgia to a 42-13 blowout of the Wildcats.

No. 7 Georgia (10-1, 7-1 SEC) bounced back from its disappointing loss to Auburn by carving up the Cats' defense for 504 yards of total offense.

The Bulldogs' offense dominated on first and second down, facing only eight third-down snaps the entire afternoon.

"You have to start by giving credit to them," UK head coach Mark Stoops said of UGA. "They took a tough loss a week ago but the rest of the season they've played like the No. 1 team in the country. They took a tough loss, but they responded in all phases and took it to us."

Kentucky (7-4, 4-4 SEC) hung within 21-13 early in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs methodically pulled away with the game's final three scores.

The Cats had only 262 yards of total offense. The running game was solid against the league's No. 2 rush defense, gaining 124 yards on the ground, but the UK passing game never found its rhythm.

Stephen Johnson finished 12-of-22 for 138 yards and was sacked three times, while Lynn Bowden threw an interception out of the Wildcat on his lone pass attempt.

Benny Snell Jr. rushed for 94 yards on 22 carries and scored a third-quarter touchdown for UK.

The Cats' Austin MacGinnis kicked field goals of 37 and 35 yards in the first quarter.

In this Cats Illustrated "Rapid Recap" feature, we touch on some quick-hitters from UK's loss...

WHAT WENT WRONG:

Kentucky was unable to "set the edge" against a potent UGA rushing attack that features a powerful offensive line and a stable of talented backs. That meant freshman quarterback Jake Fromm wasn't under pressure to make plays for the Bulldogs, throwing the ball only 14 times on the day. The Cats' only hopes for an upset -- or to even keep it close -- were to force the young signal caller into tougher down-and-distance situations.

GAME BALL:

Nick Chubb, UGA - It seems like the talented running back has been in silver britches for seven or eight years. His final performance against the Cats looked like most of the others, and frankly, a lot like anyone else who has ever played the position for UGA against UK. The names and numbers change, the production does not.

BY THE NUMBERS:

1 - Tackle behind the line of scrimmage for the UK defense in the game.

1st - Career interception for UK linebacker Josh Allen.

8 - Game losing skid by UK against UGA.

10.1 - Yards per carry by the Bulldogs' Nick Chubb.

13 - Consecutive field goals made by UK's Austin MacGinnis.

57-12-2 - UGA lead in the all-time series versus UK.

1977 - The last time UK posted a winning record in SEC play. Today's loss ended league play at 4-4 for the sixth time during that span and the second year in a row.

QUOTABLE:

"We tried to make it a dogfight all the way to the fourth quarter, but they were just clicking on offense and it kind of got away from us." - UK running back Benny Snell Jr.
