The scrimmage featured University of Kentucky quarterback commitment Patrick Towles, a senior at Highlands, and Trinity juniors James Quick, Jason Hatcher and Ryan White.
Quick, a wide receiver, and Hatcher, a defensive end, already have UK among their multiple scholarship offers and are considered strong national recruits in the 2013 class. White, a cornerback, has an offer from Illinois and is a prospect of interest for the Cats.
Highlands senior wide receiver Austin Sheehan, a UK walk-on commit, has three broken fingers and watched the game from his team's sideline. He expects to play in Highlands' regular-season opener this week against 4-A defending champ Boyle County.
Towles had two touchdown passes and two interceptions for Highlands in the scrimmage as the Bluebirds struggled to move the ball against the large, aggressive defense of Trinity, which is ranked the No. 9 team in the nation by Rivals.com.
