OT Taylor looks back on 'amazing' trip to Kentucky

When Beau Taylor traveled from Las Vegas, Nev., to Kentucky over the weekend it was a bit of a homecoming in some respects. His family is from the Commonwealth, he's spent time in the state in the past and the connections between his family and the football program are many and real.

The three-star prospect, who told Cats Illustrated that he was brought up to "hate a certain color of orange," recaps a trip that allowed him to witness an historic Kentucky win.

Before visiting Kentucky, Taylor spent some time at WKU.

"It was a fun and busy weekend," Taylor told Cats Illustrated. "We flew into Nashville Friday and drove up to talk with Coach Dartt & Coach Spurrier at WKU. By the time we left there, grabbed some food and made it to Lexington, it was almost 2 o'clock in the morning.

"Saturday we cruised around Lexington a little, grabbed lunch and then got to meet with my uncle and his friends out at one of the tailgates," Taylor continued. "I made sure I was up towards the stadium so I could see the Cat Walk, which was awesome, and headed into the recruiting room around 5:30. Once checked in it was nice that one of the GA’s I met this summer, came right up to welcome me and to let me know Coach Schlarman would be coming to see me.

"I got to talk with Coach Schlarman before I headed out onto the field and he came over to talk to me again down in the field. It was a great turnout for recruits and I was able to spend some time with a few of them and exchange social media names. We were right by where the team comes out of the tunnel and that was amazing. The atmosphere & fans were unbelievable and it was a great game and even better ending. Overall it was a great experience and I had an amazing time."

Taylor has offers from Boise State and UNLV among others. He is rated among the top prospects in Nevada from the Class of 2019.
