THE LATEST

Taylor used the spring to make return visits to two schools prominent in his recruitment since the early stages – Kentucky and Ohio State. Both programs have offered the 6-foot-5, 248-pound prospect, but Kentucky projects him to tight end while Ohio State sees Taylor fitting in as a defensive end in their system. For his part, Taylor has no preference and said he likes playing both positions. He also liked both of this visits this spring.

IN HIS WORDS

“I enjoyed myself and I like it down in Kentucky. They are just trying to get me to be part of a good program and they are coming along real well.

“The (Ohio State) spring game was fun, as always. They are a very strong contender. That’s one of my top schools and I will be further looking to see if I could go to Ohio State in these next couple months.”

RIVALS’ REACTION

Taylor does not have a set group of top schools at this stage of his recruitment, but plans to have that set before the beginning of his senior season. He has more visits planned for the summer, with Tennessee, Oklahoma and Alabama mentioned as specific destinations. It is obvious Taylor is far from a decision – he said he will not be signing in the December early period – but it is a pretty safe bet that both Kentucky and Ohio State will be contenders to the end. He has strong connections to both programs.
