One of Michigan's top prospects lists UK among ten favorites

It's been a good day for Kentucky's recruiting efforts in Michigan, the place where Steven Clinkscale is running the operation.

Rivals100 offensive lineman Marquan McCall, one of the state's best, told Rivals.com that Kentucky is among his favorite schools. Later, on Thursday night, another top player from the state announced his top ten and it included Kentucky.

Linebacker DeAndre Square has been on Kentucky's radar for months and on Thursday he announced via Twitter that his favorites are, in no apparent order, Kentucky, Michigan State, Wisconsin, LSU, Pittsburgh, Iowa State, Indiana, Arizona, Syracuse and Iowa.

The 6-foot-1, 196-pound outside linebacker hails from Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech, a football factory and the top talent-producing prep program in the state.

He is ranked the No. 35 outside linebacker nationally and the No. 14 overall prospect in Michigan according to Rivals.com.

Square has been verbally offered by all of the schools on his initial list of ten favorites.

Kentucky offered Square more than a year ago in late April of 2016. It was just his third offer at the time so Square has been getting to know the UK program, Clinkscale and the staff for a very long time.
