No word yet from UK on Noels eligibility

Kentucky doesn't play a basketball game until next month, and it's unclear whether Nerlens Noel will be eligible to suit up.
But John Calipari sounded confident at Thursday's UK basketball media day.

"He will practice, and if we played tomorrow he would play," Calipari said.
The Wildcats don't play tomorrow. They open the season Nov. 9 against Maryland in Brooklyn, N.Y., and it's possible that UK won't make an announcement about Noel's status prior to that.
It's UK's policy not to comment on eligibility until the first day of competition, spokesman DeWayne Peevy said.
Noel, a 6-foot-10 forward and the No. 2 player in the 2012 Rivals150, has been cleared academically after reclassifying from the high school class of 2013.
Sports Illustrated reported last month that the NCAA is looking into people associated with Noel's recruitment and how he paid for unofficial recruiting visits.
Noel said he's not worried about his status, but admitted he's not entirely up to date on where the process stands.
"I'm not too sure, but it's close to an end, I'm pretty sure," he said.
