The Kentucky commit won the McDonald's All-American Powerade Jam Fest Three-Point Shootout.

Monk was one of 11 boys to participate and scored 13 points to advance to the finals, the second highest score in the first round.

In the finals, which featured an entire rack of "money balls" that were worth two points, double the value of a regular ball, Monk scored 21.

Virginia commit Kyle Guy went after Monk and had 19 going into the final rack but was unable to make another three.

Monk was asked if John Calipari should be impressed after his win.

"He should be very proud because I can shoot," Monk said.

UK commit De'Aaron Fox also participated but didn't make it out of the first round. He finished with 11 points and 12 points was he cutoff.

Monk becomes the first UK commit to win the McDonald's All-American Powerade Jam Fest Three-Point shootout since Kyle Wiltjer.
