It seems like inside linebacker is a priority for Kentucky in the 2018 recruiting cycle, perhaps because the depth chart isn't exceptionally deep with Courtney Love leaving after 2017 and with Nico Firios transferring this offseason.

Hicks, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound inside 'backer, has an offer from Kentucky and the Cats are among his favorites.

On Friday, Hicks announced the following: "First off I would like to thank God for giving me the opportunity to be in the position I'm in today. Without him and the support system I have from my parents and coaches and everyone around me I wouldn't be who I am today. Here is the list of my top nine schools that I'm looking forward to attending (no order)"

The schools he listed: Louisville, Michigan State, Oregon, Oregon State, Southern Miss, Western Kentucky, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

Hicks received his offer from Kentucky more than a year ago, in February of 2016. It seems like things tapered off for a while, because on January 18 of this year Hicks tweeted that he was "re-offered" by Kentucky.

Hicks isn't the only inside linebacker from Florida who recently included Kentucky on a trimmed-down list. Eriq Gilyard recently announced his top six and the four-star linebacker's list included Kentucky and Michigan, among others.
