Miami commit Ahman Ross talks about playing with Mac Jones

Mac Jones has proven he's a great quarterback at every Rivals Camp he's attended.

But he's also an accomplished passer from his time playing high school football in Jacksonville. His teammate, Miami commit Ahman Ross, talks about what makes him a special player.

Ross is a three-star safety committed to Miami, so he's a player that's opted to play for one of the bigger schools down south. Jones is forging a different path, choosing to build at Kentucky rather than step into a football factory that's been churning out titles for a long time.

But they share a common bond at their high school, and they're on the same page.

"Growing up with Mac, since we were nine, I've watched him grow tremendously as a person and player," Ross told Cats Illustrated.

"Mac works extremely hard on perfecting his craft and he is also a true student of the game. Mac studies film like crazy. He knows the ins and outs of a team before we play them and his grasp and command of our offense is incredible."

Ross said Jones is also the kind of player that a team can easily rally around.

"Everyone follows his lead and knows when we are in a tough spot he will come through for us," Ross said. "I love playing with him because he expects nothing but perfection and you have to love and respect that from your quarterback."
