On if this spring has been a success:
“We want to finish with success. Yes, I’d say up to this point it absolutely was. I think guys have gotten better. I think as a unit we’ve gotten better. We’re playing cleaner. I would say it has been so far.”
On what he wants to get out of the spring game:
“Guys leveraging the ball, guys straining, guys getting off blocks, tackling. Obviously we’re not going to have our whole defensive package shown in the spring game. But at the end of the day we should execute at a high level the stuff we call.”
On if anyone won’t be able to play in the spring game:
“Just the same guys, Kendall (Randolph) that haven’t been practicing.”
On if Zy’Aire Hughes will play offense or defense:
“He’ll play for us.”
On what he’s seen from Hughes the past few practices:
“Like I said, he’s a guy who has gotten better. I think we’ve found a position he can be successful. He’s definitely gotten better in the few practices.”
On if he’s a safety or corner:
“He’s a corner right now.”
On having enough depth in the secondary for the spring game:
“No doubt. We’ll move guys around and we’ll make it happen.”
On if he’s looking forward to live simulation for himself as defensive coordinator:
“I think you’ve gone through that the whole spring so that’s not anything new. That part of the job, truthfully, not that it’s old habit, you get back on the bike.”
On Marcus Walker:
“He’s gotten better. He’s a good tackle. He gives you some length back there.”
On Matt Elam this spring:
“He’s had a good spring. He’s gotten better. To get him to consistently go is the battle with him. When he consistently goes he’s pretty good.”
