The 6-foot-1, 195-pound defensive back has narrowed his focus and Kentucky is still in contention.

Boone's eight favorites, in no particular order, are Pittsburgh, Maryland, NC State, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Marshall, Temple and North Carolina.

He attends Greenbelt (Md.) Eleanor Roosevelt and is ranked the No. 49 safety nationally, as well as the No. 15 prospect in Maryland. His recruiter from Kentucky's staff is Steven Clinkscale, the man who would also be his position coach if he were to land at Kentucky.

Back in February, Boone told CatsIllustrated.com that he was planning to visit Kentucky in the near future. But he later said that trip never happened. With the summer here, it's likely that such a trip is now realistic.

When Clinkscale initially offered Boone he told the defensive back that he loved his physicality and how he goes up and gets the ball when it's in the air.
