Kentucky won on Friday night against No. 25 Mississippi State but then dropped two straight to lose its first SEC series of the season. Despite losing the series, the Wildcats are still in first place in the SEC East with an 8-4 record.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

This was a rather obvious choice this week as right fielder Tristan Pompey went 8 for 11 at the plate with a home run, four runs batted in and five runs scored. He had a career-tying four hits on Sunday's game.

Pompey now leads the team in hits with 44 and his .346 average is second on the team. Furthermore, he has four home runs, 24 RBI on the season and has drawn 25 walks. Pompey does lead the team with 30 strikeouts at the plate, but he didn't strikeout at all over the weekend.
