Kentucky adds top Jack linebacker target
Kentucky picked up a commitment from its top Jack linebacker target on Saturday, just before the start of the program's weekend scrimmage.
Alex King is a high three-star (5.7) prospect from Ohio, and is just the latest in a long line of Buckeye State standouts to pick Kentucky. He announced his commitment via Twitter.
His commitment comes on the heels of four-star athlete JaVonte Richardson's decision to attend Kentucky.
King is listed as a 6-foot-3, 225-pound defensive end according to Rivals.com. Sources close to the program estimated that he may be closer to 6-foot-4 and is mainly coveted for two primary reasons: His room for growth and his athleticism.
Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Purdue, Rutgers, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin are the other Power Five schools that had offered King.
The three-star prospect visited Kentucky last weekend and Cats Illustrated reported earlier this week that King was one of the players that could be close to a commitment.
Sources close to the UK football program have told Cats Illustrated that King was Kentucky's top Jack outside linebacker target from the 2017 class.
