Good News on Giles

Plenty of hoops recruiting news is trickling out of the USA Camp, which began on Friday and wrapped up on Monday.

Five-star forward Harry Giles has been one of John Calipari's top recruiting targets since he emerged on the national radar as an elite recruit.

At one point Kentucky was seen as the odds-on favorite for Giles, but there have been enough twists and turns that the narrative has not been static. Cats Illustrated was able to land some quotes from Giles on recruiting and he makes a specific mention of John Calipari.

Giles certainly knows he's a priority for Kentucky. In spite of other front court additions Calipari isn't backing down from Giles, nor is he moving on beyond him to other options. In a recruitment that's seen plenty of momentum swings Calipari likes Giles enough to bank on the possibility of the Cats surging ahead late, when it counts.

Giles, a 6-foot-10, 220-pound power forward now at Oak Hill, is ranked the No. 3 player in the 2016 class according to the Rivals150.
