Gamecocks could be without defensive back for second straight week

After not traveling with the team to Missouri because of a foot injury, Steven Montac may miss more games this season.

Will Muschamp said on his weekly radio show that he's a game-time decision and he, "doesn't look good." Montac was limited in practice this week and has been battling some sort of foot injury since the end of preseason camp.

In other injury news, Tavyn Jackson will likely miss a third-straight game with a hamstring injury that's hampered him this season. He could lend depth to a South Carolina secondary that only brought five players to Missouri last week.

"I"m not sure when we'll get him back," Muschamp said.

Randrecous Davis, who came off the injury report last week, played against the Tigers and Muschamp thinks he'll be a bigger piece of the Gamecock offense going forward.

"Randrecous will continue to get more snaps," Muschamp said. "He played well at Missouri. We need to get him back in the fold."

Kentucky will also be without one of their playmaking defenders with Jordan Jones scheduled to miss Saturday's game with a shoulder injury.

Jones has 13 tackles this season and was Second-Team All-SEC last year.

"I hate that. he is an outstanding football player," Muschamp said. "He's active, he plays extremely hard. that's a tough blow for him. I hate that."
