Trenton Gillison is still only a sophomore but he's now one of Kentucky's biggest recruiting priorities in the all-important Buckeye State.

The 2018 prospect is a 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end from Pickerington Central (Ohio). He's the younger teammate of Kentucky commitment and 2016 prospect Jaylin Bannerman and he attends a school that Vince Marrow is very familiar with.
Gillison picked up an offer from the Wildcats a while back and he visited Lexington over the weekend for the Kentucky-Tennessee game.
"I came down with Jaylin Bannerman, Xavier Henderson and Jeremiah Wood," Gillison told Cats Illustrated.

Kentucky had already offered Henderson as well going into that trip. Wood picked up an offer while he was visiting. Both are 2018 prospects, just like Gillison. Both attend Pickerington Central.
"Me and Jaylin are pretty close," Gillison said. "Xavier and Jeremiah are like my brothers. We're real close. I like that they've offered all of us. It's pretty cool. When it all comes down to it the three of us can go to the same school."
It was Gillison's first trip to Kentucky. In spite of the game's outcome Gillison said he enjoyed his time in Lexington.
"Everything was good down there," he said. "I liked the scenery, I liked the facilities and their atmosphere. I liked how the stadium was nice. I saw their new press box that was in there. I liked how that looked. I didn't go into the field house but I saw it from outside and it seemed real nice."
PREMIUM: Update on three-star defensive back Trenton Gillison.
Marrow is the recruiter for all four players from Pickerington Central and Gillison said he's been in touch with the UK tight ends coach "here and there." They spoke at length on Saturday night during his visit.
"He seems like a real good guy," Gillison added.
Marrow would be Gillison's position coach if he chooses UK, because the Cats like Gillison as a tight end.
Kentucky comes with Bannerman's endorsement, Gillison said.
"Jaylin said he's only been there a couple of times but he said that when he's down there he likes it and feels real comfortable," Gillison explained. "I liked that I got to meet a couple of other people from like Trotwood-Madison and Huber Heights or Wayne. Tobias (Gilliam) -- I met him."
Gillison has also visited Michigan State and Cincinnati. He said he "liked it a lot" at Michigan State, especially because of the big game atmosphere in East Lansing while he was there. The Spartans took on Oregon during his visit. He said the Cincinnati trip went well, too.
Although Gillison doesn't know his stats for the season he did say that he saw that according to one source he's leading the team in receiving yards.
