Elite 2018 defensive back set to visit

Kentucky is set to play host to one of the Class of 2018's top prospects.
6-foot-1, 175-pound sophomore cornerback Derion Kendrick of Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe already has an offer list that most legitimate senior prospects would want.
Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina have all already offered Kendrick.
This week Cats Illustrated broke the news that Kendrick would be in Lexington on Halloween night for the Cats' rivalry game match up against Tennessee.
Kendrick confirmed that our report was correct when we caught up with him.
"Yes sir," Kendrick told Cats Illustrated. "I'm going to be there with one of my coaches."
Kendrick didn't have much to do with the trip's planning. His coach asked him if he'd like to accompany him on the visit and he simply said yes. He's already been to games at Clemson and North Carolina this fall. Kentucky's not as close to home as those schools so the Wildcats will be showing him a little something different.
UK will be the first SEC school Kendrick has visited for a game this fall.
The Wildcats are very interested in Kendrick, we can confirm, and we wouldn't be surprised if an offer goes out soon. Because Kendrick is still just a sophomore the UK coaches can't easily communicate with him. This will be an opportunity for that.
Kendrick does have one connection that's helped him form an early favorable opinion of UK.
"One of my friends has already been up there," he said, later clarifying that he was referring to Class of 2018 defensive back Jamari Currence. "He's already been up for a game and he's said it was nice."
Currence told Cats Illustrated this week that he will probably be at the UK-Tennessee game as well.
Kendrick has 70 tackles, three interceptions and seven offensive touchdowns so far as a sophomore this year for South Pointe.
