COMMITMENT: Cats land a 2017 offensive tackle
Kentucky has landed a Class of 2017 offensive tackle, Cats Illustrated has learned.
Olney (Md.) Good Counsel offensive tackle Naasir Watkins committed to Kentucky on Wednesday night, a source tells Cats Illustrated.
Watkins was scheduled to have an in-home visit with Kentucky on Wednesday night. He had officially visited Kentucky over the weekend. Previously, Watkins was planning to officially visit Temple on December 10. But Watkins told Cats Illustrated on Wednesday that he was unlikely to take that trip with the news that Temple head coach Matt Rhule had left for Baylor.
One of the top senior prospects in Maryland, Watkins also landed offers from Pittsburgh, Virginia and several other schools earlier in his recruitment.
He is Kentucky's second offensive line commitment from the 2017 class, joining Austin Dotson of Belfry (Ky.).
